Paul Offu, the parish priest of St James Catholic Church, Ugboka, in Nkanu East LGA on the 1st of August and the Kidnap of the traditional ruler of Obum-Agbogwugwu, His Royal Highness, Igwe Sunday Orji and his wife, along Agbogwugwu-Ihe junction on the 4th of August, 2019.</div><div><br></div><div>The suspects, Ibrahim Adamu, 25 years from Taraba State and Idris Tobe 28 years (and three others still at large) were arrested by the command after the release of the traditional ruler and his wife.</div><div><br></div><div>Speaking to Journalist101, one of the suspects, Ibrahim Adamu said, he came to Enugu to learn the skill of cow rearing and from there, he joined the criminal gang. He confessed to be part of the gang responsible for the kidnap of the traditional ruler and his wife. He also confessed that one of his gang members arrested with him, Idris supplies them with food items.</div><div><br></div><div>Similarly, the police paraded the gang responsible for the murder of Rev. Fr. Clement Rapuluchukwu, the parish priest of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Obunofia Ndiuno in Ezeagu LGA on the 14th of March, 2019.</div><div><br></div><div>The suspects confessed to killing the cleric after pursuing him into a building he ran into for cover.</div><div><br></div><div>Before killing the Priest, they  took him to the ATM, withdrew cash from his account and bought malt for him to drink before giving up the ghost as a result of the gunshots on his leg.</div><div><br></div><div>The Suspected Killers of Fr. Clement Rapuluchukwu</div><div>The suspects, Sunday Chibuko, 32 years, from Ezeagu LGA, Benjamin Osondu,28 years, from Udenu LGA and Wasiu Ajomale from Ogun State were arrested at Abuja, Lagos and Ogun states respectively. The 4th suspect, kelechi, from Oji-River is still at large.</div>

This caused a serious fight in their family as everyone insisted it was a taboo in their culture. We didn’t know that he relocated the lady to Abuja and they continued their incestuous life until she became pregnant again and gave birth to another girl. On Wednesday night, she and the lodge's front desk manager set out to return some money she had borrowed from a person in Lingabudi, police said. </p><p><br></p><p>On the way, the man had parked his two-wheeler on the road as he wanted to urinate. "According to the statement given by the man, there were four men who had parked their car in the dilapidated area and they seemed to be drunk. They saw the woman waiting for the man and attacked her," said Mysuru SP Amit Singh. </p><p><br></p><p>He further stated that the men dragged the survivor and the man into an empty plot of land near the road. "The four of them raped the woman and also assaulted the man," he added. </p><p><br></p><p>Police say that the attackers allegedly threw a huge stone on the man's leg and fled the spot. "The man's cries for help woke up a few people who live in a colony near the empty plot of land. They immediately called the police and the Jayapura Police arrived at the spot," he said. </p><p><br></p><p>The survivor and the man were rushed to KR Hospital in Mysuru City, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Police say that the man has three stitches on his forehead, a fracture on his right leg and bruises on his arms. The woman is in critical condition and is undergoing treatment.</p><p><br></p><p>The Jayapura Police have registered a case against four unidentified persons under section 376D (gangrape), 376 (punishment for rape), 323 (assault), 324 (assault with deadly weapon) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC. </p><p><br></p><p>Mysuru SP Amit said that eight teams have been formed to nab the suspects. SYDNEY — A British backpacker was sexually assaulted and held captive for weeks in the Australian Outback before being rescued by police who pulled over the car she was driving during a routine traffic stop, officials said Tuesday.<br/>

Queensland state police officers noticed the 22-year-old woman had facial injuries and appeared distressed when they stopped the four-wheel drive along a highway in the rural town of Mitchell on Sunday.<br/>

The officers then found a 22-year-old man hiding in a storage alcove in the back of the vehicle, police said.<br/>
<br/>
Police say the two had met three months earlier in the northeast city of Cairns, where the man lived. But starting in January, police say, the man began subjecting the woman to a series of violent assaults.<br/>

The attacks occurred at various locations as the pair traveled the nearly 1,400 kilometers (870 miles) between Cairns and the Outback town of Roma, police spokesman CJ Roberts said.<br/>

The police spokesperson added that the Divisional Police Officer for Ogijo, Tijani Mohammed, who received the information led his officials to the area at Mamugba village, Simawa where the main suspect, Ms. Basorun, was arrested.<br/>

Although the incident occurred on Christmas Day at 36, Fadeyi Street, Olowora, the suspect was reportedly arrested on Tuesday following the intervention of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence team in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Social Development.<br/>

PUNCH Metro learnt that Ludguo had approached his boss, whose marriage was scheduled for early 2017, in her apartment around 10.30am on Tuesday, asking her to give him N15,000 out of his December salary so he could travel.<br/>
It was gathered that Adeleke explained to him that she didn’t have naira notes on her and told him to be patient.He was said to have walked out on the woman in anger only to return with a knife and stabbed her in the chest.,<br/>

A source told our correspondent that Ludguo wanted to flee the house, but the woman’s driver and a security guard put a distress call to the Ikoyi Police Division.<br/>

“The cleaner said the woman had not paid him his December salary. It was just a month’s salary and the month has not even ended. He collects N27,000 per month.<br/>
“He used a knife to stab the woman in the chest. The woman shouted, which alerted the driver and security guard. He wanted to escape when policemen arrived at the house and arrested him,” the source said..<br/>
Dressed in black, the sister of the deceased, who did not give her name, said the family was in grief and would not talk to any journalist.<br/>
“I appreciate your coming. The incident is shocking. The family is sad and grieving and needs privacy at this time. We want to be accorded that respect please. Thank you,” she said.<br/>
PUNCH Metro observed that Adelekes’ surroundings were flooded with exotic vehicles of those who had come to sympathise with the family.<br/>

A resident, who asked not to be named, said Ludguo had requested N15,000 from his December salary and became angry because the request was not granted.<br/>

“He asked her to give him N15,000 from his December salary and she said she just came back from the US and did not have naira notes. She told him to be patient. He insisted that he needed the money to travel and Temidayo (Adeleke) told him to let her be.<br/>
“A few minutes later, he sneaked to where the woman was relaxing and stabbed her in the chest.”<br/>

The residence’s security guard, who identified himself simply as Abbah, said Adeleke employed the suspect about two months ago, adding that she was generous to him.<br/>

He said, “The boy is wicked and I have always warned him. He takes drugs. When policemen checked his clothes, they found tremor there. Madam bought him a new phone last month and she usually gave him money apart from his salary. She brought him home through her church member last month and they lived in her flat.<br/>
“It was the driver who lives in the adjoining flat that heard madam scream. By the time he got there, she was gasping with blood gushing out of her chest. The driver alerted me immediately to stop Joel at the gate and he was later arrested.”</div>

Ibrahim, a native of Otukpo, Benue State’s simple and seemingly harmless way of dispossessing taxi drivers of their vehicles, took him across Abuja, Benue and Kogi states, where he operated until the long arm of the law caught up with him.<br/>

When he was apprehended, Ibrahim, who is now being held at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, told police investigators,<br/>
 “With only biscuit, I can rob any taxi driver. I usually lace the biscuit with drugs.”<br/>
When Ibrahim was caught by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team, eight vehicles were recovered from him. They were the remaining of many vehicles he stole and had yet to dispose of.<br/>
<br/>
Ibrahim’s last victim, whom he robbed in Abuja, reportedly provided the police with information that led to him being tracked down in his hometown of Otukpo, where he was hiding out in a car dealership filled with cars from his victims.<br/>
<br/>
A police source said Ibrahim had robbed the victim after giving him tea and biscuit that had been laced with drugs.<br/>
<br/>
Ibrahim said in the statement he made to police investigators that he was married<br/>
<br/>
with four children and started his criminal activities just few months ago, when he realised robbing taxi drivers was not that difficult.<br/>
<br/>
The suspect said he discovered the method of drugging taxi drivers by chance.<br/>
<br/>
He said, “It all started when I chartered a cab from Makurdi to Gboko. On the way, I stopped over at a restaurant to buy food, part of which I offered to the driver. We bought Semovita and drove to a place and started eating. He started feeling dizzy.<br/>
“I then took out his floor mat from the car and told him to sleep on it. But before he slept off, I took the car key. As soon as he slept off, I drove the car, a Volkswagen Golf 3 to Otukpo and I sold it to a man called Chiama for N500,000.<br/>
“Fourteen days after I robbed that driver, I travelled to Abuja and boarded another cab. I asked the driver to take me to Sheraton Hotel. I paid him when we got there and asked him to wait so he could take me back. I entered the hotel to make him think I was rich. But I went to the pool side and sat there for some time.”<br/>
<br/>
 Ibrahim said after a while, he went out to meet the driver and told him to take him to another hotel.<br/>
<br/>
When they got there, he said he paid for a room and told the driver to follow him inside to collect his fare.<br/>
<br/>
The suspect said, “Once inside the room, I told him I needed to eat something fast and asked if he wanted something to eat too. I brought out bread and biscuit from my bag. I had already put some sleeping drugs on them.<br/>
“I took one of the biscuits and gave the rest to him, which he took and ate. Soon after, he slept off. I then took his key and left with the key. I drove the vehicle to Kano State and I sold it to one Abdulrahman for N600,000.”<br/>
<br/>
However, the police said Ibrahim’s undoing was his last victim’s phones, which he took away and gave out as gifts to his in-laws.<br/>
<br/>
He was said to have given one of the phones to his mother-in-law, and the other to his sister-in-law, who were none-the-wiser about the criminal activities of their benefactor.<br/>
<br/>
As soon as Ibrahim’s victim gave vital information to enable the police to track the phones, the mother-in-law and her daughter were quickly located.  Soon after, they led the police to Ibrahim.<br/>
<br/>
The police have said Ibrahim would soon be charged to court as soon as investigation is complete.<br/>
