The 17-year-old told newsmen in Maiduguri that she was abducted five years ago, alongside her parents, in Madagali in Adamawa, after a terror attack on the village.<br/>
<br/>
“I was abducted alongside my parents in Madagali in Adamawa after the terrorists attacked our village. We were taken to a camp in the bush where we were forcefully indoctrinated by the group,” she said.<br/>
<br/>
The suspected suicide bomber alleged that her parents were killed after they had refused to be indoctrinated.<br/>
<br/>
“My parents were executed because they did not join the group.<br/>
<br/>
“I was married off to a Boko Haram militant with whom I lived in the camp,” she said.<br/>
<br/>
“One day I was asked to wear the bombs. I was brought to Maiduguri with an instruction that I detonate the bomb where there is a large crowd of people,” the teenager added.<br/>
<br/>
She said that she declined to detonate the explosive because she did not want to die.<br/>
<br/>
“They said I should press the button but I refused and allowed security men to capture me alive.<br/>
“My four siblings are still with the terrorists in the camp,” Yusuf said.<br/>

<br/>The pledge was made at the high level side event on humanitarian crisis in the Lake Chad Basin, at the 71st UN General Assembly in New York.<br/>
<br/>According to Nigeria’s foreign affairs ministry on Saturday in Abuja, Tobias ELLwood, UK Minister for Africa, says “this is in addition to the 90 million pounds of humanitarian assistance we have already delivered in the region.’’<br/>
<br/>“50 million pounds will go toward meeting the needs of work in the affected communities in Nigeria, including food assistance and access to essential household items and services.<br/><br/>
<br/>“And 30 million pounds to support those affected by the spread of Boko Haram into Cameroun, Chad and Niger.’’<br/>
<br/>He said the UK was proud of its humanitarian contributions, but call on international partners to do the same.<br/>
<br/>“It is imperative that the international community and governments in the affected region redouble the efforts,’’ ELLwood said.<br/>

<br/>She said the U.S. Government has provided more than $380 million in humanitarian aid in the region since 2015, and “we would continue to do our part and we recognise that we have to do more”.<br/>
<br/>“The region is desperately in need of support, the citizens and governments of the region cannot do it alone as they made it clear today , we need to dramatically increase the international assistance we are dedicating to this.<br/>
<br/>Power quoted the UN as saying that it needed $542 million to meet the unilateral needs of the people in the region just between September and December 2016. She noted that the amount was more than three times what countries had given so far, this year.<br/>
<br/>“To give a sense of the human stance according to the UN, in Nigeria’s Borno alone, an estimated 134 children will die every day of severe acute malnutrition unless they are treated.<br/>
<br/>“At that rate over the course of this meeting, 12 boys and girls will die and that is just a slipper of the consequences when we come up short.<br/>
<br/>She, therefore, called on every government here to find ways to step up the support.<br/>
<br/>President Muhammadu Buhari had to the international community to help relieve the growing humanitarian disaster triggered by the Boko Haram insurgency in a plea for aid at the UN General Assembly.<br/>
<br/>Warnings about food shortages caused by the conflict in the country’s northeast and the broader Lake Chad region have intensified in recent months, with humanitarian organisations cautioning of a looming famine.<br/>

The deadliest occurred in Medina, where four people were killed and another person was wounded, an official with knowledge of the event told CNN. The city is a major spot in Islam because that’s where Prophet Mohammed is buried.<br/>

The bomber, who died in the explosion, targeted security officers, but it is unknown precisely who was killed as at press time.<br/>
In Qatif in eastern Saudi Arabia, a suicide bomber attempted to launch an attack at a Shiite mosque but failed, killing himself in the process, according to an official with knowledge of the event. There were no injuries.<br/>
Near the United States Consulate in Jeddah, a suicide bomber killed only himself after detonating an explosive according to the state-run Saudi Press Agency. Policemen were injured in the attack.<br/>
<br/>
There were no claims of responsibility at press time. Attackers launched strikes last week in Turkey, Bangladesh, Yemen and Iraq,  killing scores of people. They are claimed or thought to be carried out by Islamic States. The strikes came as the Muslim holy month of Ramadan ends and Americans celebrate the Fourth of July, their independence day.<br/>
Reports said, early yesterday, the Saudi police became suspicious of a man who appeared to be roaming around a parking lot of a major hospital, the news agency reported. When officers approached him, the man detonated what appeared to be an explosive belt,. The explosion happened roughly 33 feet (10 meters) from the consulate’s wall.<br/>
Witnesses told CNN the blast occurred about 3 a.m. local time and that it appeared that at least two police officers were slightly injured in the attack. The Saudi news agency reported that the policemen were slightly injured and that they were taken to the hospital. The report did not specify how many were hurt.<br/>
<br/>
None of the bystanders in the parking lot were injured in the attack, according to SPA.<br/>
Police found three devices inside the bomber’s car. A bomb disposal unit used a robot to detonate them, said a journalist who was on the scene.<br/>
The Saudi Interior Ministry is investigating the case, according to the SPA.<br/>

A U.S. State Department official told CNN that all chief of mission personnel were accounted for. The bombing came after a week of attacks in Turkey, Bangladesh and Iraq, which have left many on edge. The Appeal Court, in a judgment delivered by Justice Y. B. Nimpar, rejected the appeal filed by the convicts and upheld the judgment of the federal court.<br />
<br />
Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court in Lagos had, on September 30, 2014, handed down the verdict after the Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Justice, successfully prosecuted the terrorists before the court.<br />
<br />
The state government had filed charges against four accused persons for conspiracy to commit a felony to wit: acts of terrorism, concealing information about acts of terrorism and being in possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition contrary to various sections of the Terrorism Prevention (Amendment) Act, 2013 and the Firearms Act, Cap F.28 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.<br />
<br />
Out of the four persons charged, three were sentenced to 25 years imprisonment each, while the fourth accused was discharged and acquitted.<br />
<br />
Those convicted and sentenced were Ali Mohammed Modu, Adamu Ali Karumi and Ibrahim Usman Ali.<br />
<br />
Dissatisfied with the verdict, the convicts through their lawyer had approached the Appeal Court in Lagos asking that the verdict be upturned on the grounds that they were charged under inapplicable laws, and that the 25-year-jail term was excessive.<br />
<br />
One of the convicts, Ibrahim Usman Ali, had specifically argued that he was inadvertently convicted and sentenced for a count with which he was not charged.<br />
<br />

The pre-emptive attack was carried out after information was received about the devilish intention and location of the terrorists. While on a patrol to foil the attack troops encountered the terrorists at Tatakura village 20km South West of Wumbi. There was heavy exchange of fire at the end of which 9 Boko Haram terrorists were killed.<br/>
Troops captured 3 AK-47 rifles, 1 Fabrique Nationale rifle, 1 General Purpose Machine Gun, a 60mm Mortar Tube, 1 Rocket Propelled Grenade 7 (RPG 7) Tube, 1 G3-Machine Gun and 7 Fabrique Nationale Magazines. Other recovered items also included 108 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 1 Energa grenade, an RPG 7 Bomb as well as three 60mm mortar bombs and 2 motor cycles.<br/>

President Muhammadu Buhari promised that the insurgency will end in 2015 and while pockets of attacks are still recorded, the army has taken more proactive measures in preventing attacks and raiding enemy camps.<br/>
