Frank Lampard gave an emotional wedding speech saying he wished his mum had lived to meet Christine Bleakley.
The pair met at the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards six years ago and after being introduced to each other by former Mirror editor Piers Morgan they fell in love.
Now in his latest column for the Mail, Piers recalled Frank's speech that had everyone including the groom, in tears.
His mum Pat died in 2008.
He said: "As you all know, I was a mummy’s boy.
"My biggest regret is Mum died before she ever got to meet Christine because they’re so similar, like two peas from the same pod."
