An operative of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been gunned down by thugs.The thugs engaged the DSS operatives in a gun duel on March 18 in Egi area of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area of the state, a team of security operatives were intercepted during their patrol in the area ahead Saturday’s rerun elections.The temporal spokesman for Port Harcourt army barracks, Captain Lazarus Eli confirmed the death of the DSS agent, “Reinforcement has been sent to beef up security in the area and normalcy has been restored, the public is hereby advised to remain calm and be law abiding throughout the election period and beyond as security agents will continue to work assiduously to ensure security of lives and property,” he said.
